We are seeking an experienced and proactive Civil Engineer to collaborate with the Project Manager in managing and coordinating all phases of civil engineering projects, from tendering through to handover and the Defect Liability Period. The ideal candidate will be involved in the full life cycle of projects, ensuring safety, quality, and budgetary control while working closely with the project team to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Life Cycle Management:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage the entire life cycle of projects, including tendering, design, construction, handover, and the Defect Liability Period.

• Structural Design & Compliance:

  • Design structures that meet required load ratings, stresses, and safety standards based on site conditions, project plans, and engineering specifications.

• Construction Planning & Coordination:

  • Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards, ensuring compliance with the project specifications.

  • Draft, review, and interpret construction specifications and plans.

• Cost Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee the financial management of the project, including tracking costs, issuing variations, and progress claims.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly updates.

• Scheduling & Progress Monitoring:

  • Develop and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.

  • Manage site activities and resources, including labor, construction materials, plant, and equipment.

• Site Supervision & Resource Management:

  • Coordinate site labor, construction materials, plant and equipment, ensuring all tasks and paperwork are completed efficiently.

  • Study architectural drawings and specifications to estimate costs and prepare detailed cost plans for budget control.

• Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Site Management Plans, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations, and project-specific safety requirements.

• Team Collaboration & Productivity:

  • Assist in managing site construction activities to ensure efficient use of resources (both internal and external), maximizing productivity and minimizing waste.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• 2 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly in project management and site coordination.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.

• Proficient in using engineering design and project management software (Auto CAD, MS Project, etc.).

• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
