Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres (Construction / ICA Support)
Location: Melbourne
Employment Type:Full‑time

Currently seeking electrically engineers/technicians with 2–3 years of intermediate commissioning experience, ideally on data centres or construction services projects. You'll support mission‑critical developments for clients such as Microsoft, Amazon, NextDC and other major operators, working alongside main contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support commissioning of MV/LV power systems: switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs/RPPs, busways, grounding, protection, and EPMS/BMS.
  • Plan and execute pre‑commissioning and functional tests, inspections, insulation/continuity checks, and protection/control testing.
  • Assist with load bank testing and integrated system testing (IST), including staged load and failover scenarios.
  • Work under LOTO/PTW and site safety procedures, supporting safe switching, isolation, and energisation.
  • Liaise with contractors, vendors, and client teams, and help track defects and formal handovers.
What We're Looking For
  • Electrical engineering degree or equivalent, with 2–3 years' commissioning or construction services experience.
  • Data centre exposure is ideal, but strong subcontractor / inspection background in electrical or construction is also suitable.
  • Practical understanding of site works, construction coordination, and commissioning workflows.
  • Strong communication and client‑facing skills; you'll be in front of clients and must represent the team professionally.
