The Consultancy firm is currently experiencing considerable growth, thus requiring the services of experienced and motivated Experienced Consultant Electrical Engineer - Utility Works.

The firm's office is based in Notting Hill in Melbourne's South East.

We are seeking to add to our fantastic team and grow our utility contestable works division.

The Role/Duties

Growing our portfolio as well as our team of Contestable Works/URD Consultant Electrical Engineers, we are now looking for a candidate with the following skills/abilities and more:

  • Liaising and meeting with clients and other key stakeholders

  • Detail design of utility contestable works, including URD, overhead, industrial, commercial and augmentation to utility assets, including design calculations, maximum demand, cable sizing and selection for electrical systems (lighting, power, communications, fire detection, data and security systems)

  • Reviewing customer specifications and drawings and providing technical assistance in the development of quotations and proposals

  • Coordinating project design tasks such as making application, design submissions and negotiations with Power Authorities

  • Site visits/inspections for compliance/audit checks, meetings and providing assistance to constructors in order to achieve network audit approvals.

  • Learning and understanding current standards in accordance with distribution network legislation.

  • Providing support to the business with ad hoc duties when requested.

The Candidate

Successful candidate will require to have:

  • An Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering

  • Proven experience in the electrical industry which will be well regarded

  • Experience in Power Authority Designs and delivery of projects

  • A current Australian driver’s licence

  • Strong communication, report writing and documentation skills

  • Well-developed computer software skills – Autodesk and AutoCAD.
