About the role

Maroondah Hospital Medical Imaging is a friendly, patient-focused department providing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services in Melbourne's outer east.
Opportunity exists for an individual who is self-motivated, customer focused and possesses well-developed communication skills to join our reception team in Medical Imaging. This varied role includes a wide range of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities to ensure an efficient and patient-centred Medical Imaging service. The Medical Imaging Receptionist will undertake a range of examination scheduling, patient and healthcare professional queries and general administrative tasks. The role includes participation in a rotating roster including days, evenings, weekends and on-call duties. Please note one of the two rostered days will be Monday, with the second day being negotiable.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Well-developed communication skills both face to face and over the telephone
  • High attention to detail
  • Previous experience within the healthcare industry (desirable)
  • Experience/knowledge in Medical Imaging (desirable)
  • Experience in Radiology Information System (RIS) (desirable)
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a diverse team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage pressure within a changing work environment
  • Sound organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Highly proficient data entry skills
  • General computer literacy with standard Microsoft programs knowledge
  • Ability to follow instruction and problem solve

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
