Location: Essendon Campus Role Type: Full-time, ongoing Remuneration: $142k salary plus superannuation About The Role As Program Lead – Nursing, you will be a key member of the Industry & Education leadership team, responsible for leading and managing the coordination, design, delivery and continuous improvement of vocational nursing programs aligned to industry, regulatory and learner expectations. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will provide strong educational and people leadership to a team of teachers and sessional staff, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences, positive student outcomes and delivery against enrolment and performance targets. You will oversee program quality, student progress and compliance with National VET Quality Standards, relevant legislation and Bendigo Kangan Institute policies and frameworks. In this role, you will work collaboratively across Health & Community and the broader organisation to strengthen program delivery, build internal and external partnerships, and ensure nursing programs remain contemporary and responsive to workforce needs. You will contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a positive, inclusive and high‑performing team culture. Qualifications We are excited about you because you have: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher relevant nursing qualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse accreditation via AHPRAA current VET qualification (TAE50116, TAE50216 or TAE50122) including 200 hours of supervised practicum, or a higher VET qualification incorporating TAEDEL502 and TAERES501Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance Experience Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of course design, delivery and assessment within a regulated VET environmentDemonstrated experience leading, engaging and developing teaching teams to achieve high‑quality educational outcomes and organisational targetsProven ability to monitor student progress and results, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standardsA strong understanding of auditing and regulatory requirements within vocational education and trainingHighly developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups and manage sensitive matters appropriatelyStrong problem‑solving skills, critical thinking capability and a confident, flexible approach to leading change and continuous improvementThe ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations, with a current Victorian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel between campuses as required We Can Offer You Attractive work-life balance and flexible work optionsProfessional development programsFitness Passport Program with exclusive access for you and your family to 230+ locations Australia wideCounselling support (EAP) and Health & Wellbeing initiatives throughout the yearMeaningful work that drives positive social impactThe opportunity to build a career in a world leading vocational education and training sector, with diverse and emerging career opportunities across Australia.
