An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Specialist Surgical Medical Secretary to join a progressive and well-established surgical practice based in Malvern.
This specialist practice provides state-of-the-art investigation and treatment in Vascular Surgery, with particular expertise in carotid artery disease, aneurysms, and dialysis surgery. The team is committed to delivering gentle, attentive, and comprehensive care, with patients always at the centre of everything they do.
They are seeking a diligent, organised, and experienced Surgical Medical Secretary who will thrive in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where your contribution will play a vital part in ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
The practice is conveniently located in Malvern, with on-site parking available and easy access to all forms of public transport.
This is a permanent position, ideally working Monday to Thursday, 30–38 hours per week (to be discussed at interview).
Responsibilities include:
· Greeting patients, scheduling patient consult appointments - Forward planning of the patients’ schedule, organising payments and ensuring an effective flow of patients through the Practice.
· Organise theatre/hospital booking for patients
· Prepare theatre lists
· Liaise with hospital staff, anaesthetists, referring doctors, and sonographers
· Attending to account enquiries, billing Medicare and health funds, including Eclipse.
· Managing incoming mail, faxes, and emails
· Processing referrals
· Use of Genie medical software
· Filing and scanning
· Other general admin duties as required
Essential Criteria:
· Previous experience in a surgical practice
· Attention to detail and accurate keyboard skills
· Able to multitask in a busy clinic
· Friendly, pleasant, and professional manner
· Able to work within a small team environment
· Excellent communication skills
