Mr. Crumb Hoppers Crossing is seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. We are looking for motivated professionals with a genuine passion for food, strong organisational skills, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards, while maintaining consistency and quality in every dish.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control and presentation
Assisting the chef and store manager in menu planning and development, with new dish development, weekend specials, festival menus, and future barista operations. Writing and maintaining detailed recipes and preparation instructions for consistent dish reproduction.
Estimate food and labour costs and assist with stock ordering and inventory control
Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation and service
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities and maintain proper stock rotation and liaising with Manager for stock shortages and ordering requirements
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff where required
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas
Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Handling customer calls, accurately recording order details, and managing dine‑in/takeaway/online orders.
Maintaining strong communication with management and avoiding unauthorized decision‑making. Supporting a positive, respectful, and safe working environment.
Skills and Experience:
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (Australian qualification or equivalent)
Minimum one years of relevant full-time experience in a commercial kitchen
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent time management and communication skills
Reliable, punctual and committed to long-term employment
Employment Details:
Position: Cook Full-Time ( Long Term Position)
Salary: $72,000 to $80,0000 per annum plus superannuation
Schedule: Rotating roster including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays
Location: On-site
Work Rights: Must have full working rights in Australia
