Join our dedicated team at Doutta Galla Aged Services - Woornack, Sunshine VIC where every day is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents.

We have an opportunity for Second Cook. From preparing nutritious meals with care to sharing a warm smile during meal service, you'll be creating moments that matter. This is a part-time position.

Week 1: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Week 2: Saturday and Sunday - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of daily meals for residents
  • Follow menu plans and dietary requirements including texture-modified diets
  • Support the Head Chef/Cook with food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory tasks

What you will bring:

  • Previous experience working as a cook or kitchen assistant (aged care or healthcare preferred
  • Understanding of special dietary requirements is an advantage
  • A passion for providing a quality, relationship-based service
  • Current Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations, guidelines, standards and relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of OH&S and infection control specific to catering
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
  • Effective and positive communication skills
  • Excellent time management
