About us 

Marble Yakiniku is a new restaurant in Glen Waverley. We are a new Yakiniku with a modern twist. We provide both Australian and Japanese Wagyu beef with different Japanese dishes, including sushi and sashimi.

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified Cook who will directly report to the restaurant manager. The Cook will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and provides professional leadership and direction to kitchen personnel where required. The Cook also needs to ensure that recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the restaurant’s specifications and has a commitment to quality. The Cook is responsible to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitised workspace. 

Responsibility

· Preparation the daily production list

· Preparing for service including cleaning, cutting, and marinating the food

· Ensuring that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period

· Verifying that other kitchen staff under supervision follow all receipts and size portion correctly

· Maintaining the kitchen, dishes, and storage areas clean and organised

· Placing food and supply orders as directed

· Receiving products and ingredients and verifying invoices and merchandise quality

· Training employees to the restaurant’s standards

· Actively participating as a member in the management team 

· Performing any other additional responsibilities as request by the head chef/restaurant manager 

Qualification 

In order to apply for the role, you must have the following experience and knowledge: 

· relevant qualification and trainings in commercial cookery;

·  work experience in a Japanese restaurant environment;

· excellent communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills;

  proficiency in spoken Japanese;

· sound knowledge of Japanese food and beverages;

· sound knowledge of the restaurant industry; and 

· team-oriented and able to lead, inspire and train junior staff.
