Sankalp Restaurant Sankalp Hoppers Crossing( Melbourne, Australia) is known for its North Indian and South Indian dishes.  We are currently hiring an experienced Chef/Cook for Contemporary Indian cuisine offering fine dining, catering, functions, bar and takeaway facilities. We are looking for a motivated team member, to work in our Restaurant in Hoppers Crossing. 

 

About the role- must have experince in  Indian cuisine

 

· Food preparation and cooking, plating and presentation.

· Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies.

· Innovative in producing new ideas for the menu and special occasions.

· Must have experience and Have a passion for working on South Indian, North Indian, Indo-Chinese and Tandoori dishes.

· Can prepare technically intensive food items including pastry goods

· Contribute to the design of the restaurant's traditional Indian Menu.

· Able to deal with big catering and function orders.

· Able to work in a busy environment, including weekends and public holidays.

· Train other kitchen staff if required.

· All other required cook/chef duties.

· Assisting with implementing and improving inventory systems and assisting with the ordering and receiving of produce.

· Maintain High standards of personal / work hygiene. Comply with all the rules and regulations by the health department.

Skills and experience

· Cert III / CertIV in cookery for Cook

· a Diploma in Hospitality  for Chef

· 2 years' experience of working in a busy Indian kitchen preferred

· Must have Knowledge and experience in South Indian, North Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisine

· Experience in planning menus, developing recipes, preparing, cooking and maintaining food quality

· Ability to maintain a clean kitchen and use kitchen appliances and equipment safety
