Cirka Catering is on an exciting growth trajectory, underpinned by our successful transition in 2025 as the provider of café and catering services across all Box Hill Institute campuses in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

We are looking for motivated Cooks & Kitchen Hand staff to join and build upon our established onsite kitchen and catering team!

Working at a leading TAFE, Box Hill Institute, these casual roles will work primarily between the hours of 6:30am-4:00pm on weekdays, playing a key role in our Cirka88–branded cafés and function activities.

About the Roles

As a Cook with Cirka, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Performing general cooking duties for both dine in and grab’n’go offerings (savoury wraps, sandwiches, bagels, salads, pasta dishes, sweet slices, muffins etc.)

• Excellent communication with front of house team to ensure cabinets at cafe are replenished throughout service.

• Stepping in to help the front of house team serve customers at peak times.

• Assist the Chef Manager with management of costs against agreed budgets (including wastage and labour). 

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and ensure compliance regarding all food-related practices & procedures.

As a Kitchen Hand with Cirka, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with food preparation and plating.

• Assist Chefs during service and event setup.

• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety standards.

• Restock kitchens stations and support inventory management.

To be considered for these roles it is essential that you can demonstrate that you:

• Have previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen or customer-focused environments.

• Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills.

• Strong attention to detail and adherence to hygiene practices.

• Current Working With Children Check and National Police Check

• Obtained a Do Food Safely certificate.
