Sir Charles Cafe is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef/Cook to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced café environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality dishes with consistency.

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 per Annum + Superannuation.
Task & responsibilities
Responsibilities of a Chef :
- Plan menus and contribute to menu development and seasonal updates.
- Oversee kitchen operations and coordinate workflow during service.
- Supervise and guide kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchenhands.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplier relationships.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations.
- Manage kitchen costs, minimise waste, and control food expenses.
Responsibilities of a Cook :
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and instructions.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory tasks.
- Ensure consistency in taste and presentation of dishes.
Qualification & experience
- Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
