Overview

The Kitchen Hand is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, as well as assisting chef and cook with basic tasks. This role helps ensure smooth kitchen operations and a clean, safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

• Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.

• Keep the dishwashing area clean, tidy, and organised at all times.

• Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste properly.

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required (e.g., chopping, prepping ingredients).

• Restock clean dishes, cutlery, and utensils to appropriate stations.

• Maintain cleaning standards and follow food safety and hygiene procedures.

• Clean kitchen floors, benches, and equipment as instructed.

• Report any damaged equipment or safety hazards to the manager.

Skills & Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.

• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.

• Previous experience is preferred but not essential.
