Salary: AUD $78,000 – $82,000 per annum plus superannuation

Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

About Us

Lulus Char Koay Teow is a well-established Malaysian restaurant specialising in authentic Malaysian cuisine. Located within Chadstone Shopping Centre, the restaurant serves a high volume of customers throughout the week and offers a diverse menu featuring traditional Malaysian hawker-style dishes prepared using fresh ingredients and authentic cooking techniques.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·       Prepare, cook and present Malaysian dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.

·       Prepare ingredients including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces and seasonings for daily service.

·       Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

·       Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation standards.

·       Ensure food is prepared and served within required timeframes during busy service periods.

·       Assist with stock rotation, inventory control and ordering requirements.

·       Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards in accordance with relevant regulations.

·       Assist in menu development and the introduction of seasonal or promotional dishes.

·       Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks and kitchen assistants to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

·       Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

Skills and Experience Required

·       At least 1 year of full-time relevant work experience as a Cook or equivalent.

·       Experience preparing and cooking Malaysian, Asian or similar cuisines is highly regarded.

·       Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices.

·       Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.

·       Strong teamwork and communication skills.

·       Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Qualifications

·       Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification is preferred.

·       Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications where permitted.
