About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cook chef to join our team on a part time or full time basis.

The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, cooking, plating, kitchen cleanliness, and maintaining food safety standards in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

The Cook will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, cooking, seasoning and presenting a variety of food items in accordance with menu requirements and recipes.

  • Assisting with daily food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, seasoning, slicing and assembling ingredients to support efficient kitchen operations.

  • Cooking and plating barbecue and casual dining dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.

  • Working effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment, particularly during peak service periods.

  • Portioning food, controlling wastage and assisting with stock rotation to minimise spoilage and maintain cost control measures.

  • Operating commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking appliances, safely and effectively.

  • Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards and workplace health and safety procedures.

  • Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is prepared and served according to quality standards.

  • Cleaning kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and storage areas to maintain a clean and hygienic workplace.

  • Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensuring all food preparation and storage activities comply with company policies and relevant legislative requirements.
