About the business

Penny For Pound are a busy cafe and bakery, operating out of our custom built HQ in Moorabbin. We have a focus on house-made freshness, produce a high-quality product for our local community, and welcome them to our open production kitchen and cafe space. We are a friendly, tight knit team, who take pride in what we do. This position is integral to the smooth daily operations of our production kitchen and cafe and as such would suit someone willing to grow with the business.

About the role

  • Hiring a full time position in our back of house area assisting dishes, cleaning and support for our production team.

  • Assist the team with general kitchen and production tasks including, dish washing, general cleaning, receiving and organising deliveries.

  • Immediate start available.

  • This role would suit someone keen to jump into a diverse role and be part of a tight knit team.

  • Previous experience in a similar kitchen environment will make you a strong candidate for this role.

  • Training Provided for someone with a strong work ethic, reliable, and interested in learning new things.

  • Variety of start times, but early mornings and weekend work are required.

To be successful in this role you must have the following qualities:

  • Reliable and Punctual for rostered shifts

  • Work quickly, neatly, and efficiently

  • Can do attitude - willingness to learn and improve.

  • Attention to Detail

  • Some previous kitchen experience will make you a strong candidate for the role.

  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Excellent Verbal Communication Skills

  • Take constructive feedback

  • Meet set deadlines for tasks completed

  • Physically fit - some manual lifting involved in a busy kitchen environment

  • Be flexible to a changing roster 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must speak and understand English

  • Available full time. Weekend availability is required for these roles.

  • We are looking for long term, committed staff members that are keen to grow with the business.

  • Own transport, or ability to get to and from Moorabbin 3189
