Chef / Cook (Part-Time) – Japanese Tonkatsu Restaurant

Katsumo is a premium Japanese tonkatsu restaurant located in Glen Huntly, Melbourne. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef/Cook to join our small and friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a quality-focused kitchen while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

What We Offer

  • Part-time position (25–30 hours per week)

  • $26–$30 per hour + weekend penalty rates + superannuation

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of commercial kitchen experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Japanese restaurant experience

  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety practices

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

  • Valid Australian working rights

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard

  • Assist with food preparation and service

  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards

  • Manage stock rotation and kitchen organisation

  • Work efficiently during busy service periods

  • Contribute to a positive and professional team culture

Availability

Availability for Friday & Saturday dinner service is essential.
