Stones Throw Cafe is looking to hire a new Chef or Cook/kitchen hand 

You would be joining a fantastic team in a cafe that operates in the lively and friendly Montmorency community.

This opportunity offers great potential for the successful applicant to develop and progress in their hospitality career. 

We are seeking an experienced cook/chef or kitchen hand, who has a passion for the industry, exceptional people skills and is able to be a bright and hard working member of our team.

We provide a mix of dine in table service and takeaway trade. In the role of cook/chef , it is expected the employee will be able to create great meals, keep a clean work environment, support on dishes and help with the set up and pack down of cafe.

We work closely as a team, value and expect good communication, a positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn/ up skill and serve our customers.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in hospitality

• A hard working attitude

• Team player

• Genuinely enjoy people and connecting with customers

• Weekday and weekend availability 

• Commercial kitchen a experience a plus but not essential (please let us know on application)

• Availability: We are looking to add at least 2 to the team, so flexibility around days and times is necessary

About Stones Throw

We have now traded for eight years and have established ourselves as the cafe with the highest quality coffee, meals and service in the area. Open Monday - Saturday, Sundays Takeaway coffee and Bar service, no kitchen. We seat over 100 people, have a strong takeaway coffee trade, have a team of 12 staff with a mix of full time and casuals. Our Coffee set up is 40-50 kg Allpress running a La Marzocco

Stones Throw has a Sister cafe called Keystone Social in Hurstbridge which runs under our executive chef who sees over our kitchen operations at both sites
