About the team

Warrawee Community offers a home-like environment for our residents, comprising of six single-story houses surrounded by lush gardens and grounds. The community is made up of 90 beautifully appointed single rooms featuring a bedroom with ensuite. Warrawee provides peace of mind for its residents whatever care level they choose.

About the role

Working closely with our Cooks, Kitchen Assistants are responsible for assisting with food and beverage preparation and service, cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas, and ensuring the kitchen follows all safe handling practices and aged care quality standards.

Your day to day will look like:

• Providing friendly service and engaging with residents.
• Taking meals to residents and clearing tables.
• Supporting the Cook in basic food preparation tasks (e.g. chopping, portioning, plating meals).
• Washing dishes, cookware and equipment following proper sanitisation procedures.
• Assisting with grocery deliveries promptly to ensure food temperatures are maintained at a safe level.
• Preparing thickened fluids in line with IDDSI guidelines.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for reliable, customer-focused Kitchen Assistants who are keen to support our residents and provide a positive dining environment.

The following qualifications and skills are also required:

• Minimum Level 1 Basic Food Hygiene for Health Care Workers.
• The ability to work as part of a team and prioritise tasks.
• Time management skills.
• The ability to understand and maintain confidentiality of information about residents, staff and all others associated with the facility.

Rates of Pay

• Casual: $41.42 - $42.41 per hour including casual loading (depending on experience) + 12% superannuation
• Part-time: $33.14 - $33.93 per hour (dependent on experience) + 12% superannuation

Progressed candidates must undergo pre-employment screening as a standard procedure which will include:

• Employee Working with Children Check
• New National Police Record Check
• Pre-employment medical assessment
• Evidence of right to work in Australia.
