About the Role:

PD - XC - Employee and Workplace Relations Manager 

The Employee and Workplace Relations Manager facilitates the development and implementation of Employee and Workplace Relations strategies, policies and guidelines to support a sustainable, effective and consistent approach across the College. The position will provide input and energy into professional growth, coaching and wellbeing initiatives, is accountable for leadership and collaboration on a range of industrial relations matters (including participation in enterprise bargaining and related matters as required), performance and conduct management processes and engagement in a range of People and Culture projects.

 Job Description

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Workplace and Industrial Relations, Employee Relations or related field, and relevant practical experience.
  • A commitment to working in and contributing to the ethos of a Jesuit school.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to child safety principles, the Child Safe Standards, and a commitment to contributing to an exceptional culture of child safety.
  • A sound knowledge of current Workplace and Industrial Relations legislation and topical issues in employment law.
  • Experience in leading, facilitating and documenting effective performance management processes to foster improvement.
  • Skilled in contributing to effective leadership development and capability, providing timely and effective support and feedback.
  • A sound understanding of relevant legislative frameworks, effective in working with industrial instruments including awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills, a positive communicator with a highly professional, yet approachable demeanour.
  • Experience in building productive working relationships across a range of stakeholder groups.
  • Strong project management, planning and organisational skills, capable of managing competing priorities.
  • Strong written communication capability and proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite.
  • Experience in leadership or a relevant position, ideally in an education or professional services sector.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires self-direction, team-orientation, and the ability to effectively handle pressure in a manner consistent with Ignatian values.
