At NCI Packaging, we pride ourselves on being a leader in the packaging industry. With a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality products to our customers. As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of our Plastics production lines (injection moulding) at our Tullamarine plant. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production, develop and elevate the production team’s skills ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times and teamwork thrives. 

  • Oversee all aspects of production from pre-production planning to post-production execution.

  • Collaborate with the OHS committee and manage incidents and injuries effectively.

  • Drive the ongoing development of our quality system, ensuring production activities align with quality objectives. 

  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, implement problem-solving processes, and collaborate with cross-departmental teams to improve process capability and product quality.

  • Manage absenteeism, RDOs and leave entitlements.

  • Implement performance management with the support from the Plant Manager and People and Culture. 

  • Problem-solve and troubleshoot any production issues that arise, keeping projects on track.

  • Collaborate with maintenance to rectify machine problems, maximize machine up-time, and ensure customer deliveries are met.

  • Oversee administrative tasks, including time sheets, labour hire communication, reporting, and purchasing activities, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance.

  • Foster an environment of open communication, conducting regular toolboxes and training to meet business objectives.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance production processes and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualification in Production Management / Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience

  • Injection moulding experience preferred, however not mandatory

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and supervise staff

  • Proven stakeholder management  

  • Coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills

  • Technical knowledge to drive best practices in production and maintenance

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Effective problem-solving and communication abilities

  • Customer-focused mindset with a cost-conscious approach

  • Excellent knowledge of products, processes, and their interrelationships
