About the Role

The Product Manager will be responsible for the sourcing, buying, development and design of private label products from our international & local suppliers. They will be required to identify product opportunities within our Retail network and the wider market, to develop new programs in line with Bapcor Retail’s Private label strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, design and buying of products from our external suppliers.

  • Ensure products comply with relevant Australian standards and are safe for our customers to purchase and use.

  • Conduct extensive market review to compare competitors’ products, to look for opportunities for new designs, and product improvements against our competitors.

  • Manage from concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecast, cost, mass production, promotion, support, and finally product end of life.

  • Ensure the products are delivered on time, and that each process from design, manufacture, sample approval and artwork/packaging is at the agreed level to the Private Label’s team standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree qualified in related field

  • Product development or importing experience.

  • Previous experience in a product management role would be beneficial, but not a requirement.

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • International buying experience
