We are currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our Product Development team in Melbourne.In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical or electromechanical products from concept through to production and sales release. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Production and Quality teams to ensure products are robust, manufacturable and meet customer needs. What You'll Be DoingContribute to the design and development of new products from concept through to production releaseCreate and modify 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD softwareConduct engineering analysis including dimensional analysis, tolerance checks and tolerance stack calculationsDevelop and test prototype components to support product validation and performance improvementsIdentify design risks and contribute to risk mitigation strategies during developmentParticipate in design reviews throughout product development gateway stagesWork with production and quality teams to ensure designs incorporate design-for-manufacture principlesLiaise with suppliers regarding component design, specifications and prototype manufacturingSupport product testing, root cause investigations and continuous product improvementContribute to engineering documentation, technical reports and product change processes About You To be successful in this role, you will bring experience working in a product development environment, ideally designing mechanical or electromechanical products from concept through to production.
