Australian Shia Gathering Place Inc. is a medium-sized registered charity and community cornerstone in Reservoir, VIC, dedicated to supporting Shia social, religious, and cultural life in Australia.

Our work enriches a diverse community through cultural, educational, and spiritual services. We are actively expanding our facilities and run a thriving Ethnic Arabic School and Quranic School, each serving over 350 students. Our broad activities support all age groups and provide humanitarian aid, and we work to strengthen connections within our community and with broader Australian society.

The Opportunity: A Senior Strategic ICT Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Digital Administration & IT Manager to provide organization-wide strategic leadership. This is a senior, strategic position responsible for setting our digital direction, cybersecurity posture, and long-term technology planning. You will be crucial in ensuring our digital ecosystem robustly supports all community services and strategic growth objectives.

This role requires a specialized combination of advanced ICT qualifications, substantial senior-level experience, and high-level bilingual capability in Arabic and English. Where a suitably qualified local candidate cannot be found, we are open to sponsoring an exceptional international applicant under the Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa or another appropriate skilled visa pathway.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement the organization-wide digital strategy, including cybersecurity frameworks, data governance, and long-term systems planning.
• Strategic Systems Management: Oversee, maintain, and optimize core digital and administrative systems, evaluating and integrating new technologies.
• IT Infrastructure Leadership: Provide advanced support and strategic oversight for all IT operations, network management, and database integrity.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all compliance and data security protocols, leading technical reporting and documentation.
• Digital Platform Development: Maintain and enhance the organizations and school’s online platforms and digital service channels.
• Incidental Educational Support: Any involvement in teaching or curriculum support for our Arabic school is secondary to the primary ICT duties, subject to operational needs and relevant visa conditions.

Skills & Qualifications Required

• Essential Qualifications: A minimum of a Master's degree. Doctoral (PhD) qualifications in IT or a closely related field are highly regarded.
• Essential Experience: Substantial and demonstrated experience in a senior ICT management, digital administration, or strategic systems leadership role.
• Essential Language Requirement: High-level proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic and English is mandatory. Arabic is required for daily interactions with community members, students, parents, and teachers across our schools and services. Proficiency in the Iraqi dialect is preferable.
• Highly Desirable: Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or curriculum support.
• Exceptional organizational, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

• Competitive Salary Package: A negotiable full-time salary range of $98,000 - $130,000 AUD per annum (commensurate with experience) plus superannuation.
