The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Director, Service Management to provide executive leadership for the Enterprise Technology Solutions team.
About the Business Unit
The Corporate Strategy and Delivery Group is an enabling function delivering Finance, People, Safety and Culture, Strategic Communication, Infrastructure, Data, Performance and Governance, and Information Technology Solutions to support the Department. The group provides strategic and operational support, delivers essential corporate services, and leads continuous improvement and performance oversight of corporate functions.
The Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) branch leads DJCS's strategy, policy and investment in all aspects of information management and technology use supporting DJCS business areas and staff to get the most from their investment in technology and use tools safely and in a compliant manner.
About the Role
To be successful in this role the person will have capacity to lead people and organisations through change and to drive and implement initiatives and efficiencies that will improve the delivery of services across the department.
The work is fast paced and would suit an individual whois able to lead a team in achieving results whilst responding to a rapidly changing environment
Some of your duties will include:
- Lead CSD's modernisation of its arrangements for the delivery of corporate services delivery ensuring all documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials and advice to customers in relation to the service are current, regularly reviewed, and fit for purpose and implement consistent tools for capturing, allocating and monitoring of support requests.
- Lead the unit's input into the annual process to define service levels in the DJCS Corporate Services Service Agreement and associated reporting and analysis activities.
- Lead continuous improvement of the processes undertaken by teams across the branch and wider division.
- Contribute to the wider leadership of the corporate service arrangement, connecting with staff across ETS, policy owners in other parts of CSD and in client divisions to understand departments' requirements and maximise the value obtained from their collective investments in corporate services and associated systems
- Provide expert advice to executive level stakeholders in customer departments on changes to policies, strategies, processes, frameworks and potential investments relating to all services delivered by ETS.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Significant knowledge of and experience in defining, costing, measuring and reporting on services that including the management of systems and specific technology used by customer organisations.
- Significant knowledge and ability to influence the design the frameworks and processes used in Victorian Government organisations for the management of Information Systems and Technology.
- Strong ability to understand, and then simplify and explain to others, complex concepts and processes associated with corporate processes such as those involved in financial management, procurement, human resource management and document/records management
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in fields related to business management, human resource management, financial management and/or technology is highly desirable.
