A full-time, ongoing position in a values-based organisationBased in our Brunswick office, free onsite parking and close to PTSalary of $129,210 + Super + NFP Salary Packaging Rebuilding Shattered Lives - Supporting people of refugee background to recover from torture and other traumatic events Your Impact The CSCB Program is an innovative program designed to facilitate and support the development, growth, and empowerment of communities from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to; recover from pre-arrival trauma, resettle positively, and strengthen these communities across Victoria, helping them thrive. Complementing and strengthening this work, CSCB also leads a program that builds on the capacity of the refugee and humanitarian service sector, whilst enabling mainstream health, mental health and wellbeing and education sectors to better understand the refugee and asylum seeker experience. The School Support Program (SSP) has an objective of improving the wellbeing and educational outcomes for children, young people, and families from refugee backgrounds, by building the capacity of school staff to work effectively for and with individuals and families of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. The Role The SSP Team Leader provides line management and practice support to School Support Officers (SSOs) working in the SSP. The SSP Team Leader supports SSOs on a day-to-day basis, performs direct school capacity building work, and may directly lead and contribute to projects as required. The SSP Team Leader also liaises with the Department of Education (DE) and other partners around program operations in accordance with strategy and direction from the Education and Early Years Program Lead. Key Responsibilities Include Effectively lead, engage and support the SSOs to provide high quality service delivery to schoolsLead and manage SSP team, providing effective line management and practice support, ensuring high standards of practice and service delivery.Lead the delivery of Foundation House professional learning to schools and the broader education sector.Support School Support Officers and other Foundation House staff in the delivery of professional learning.Lead the development of School’s In for Refugees professional learning content with reference to the Foundation House frameworks and standards.Build, maintain and strengthen professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders, supporting partnerships and collaborations.In collaboration with the EEY Program Leader, conduct reviews and evaluation of the SSP to monitor emerging issues and identify opportunities that enable continuous quality improvement. Available is one full-time, ongoing position, based in our Brunswick office. What You’ll Need To Successfully Apply To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria: Tertiary qualifications in education, social work, community development or a related field. A formal qualification in adult education is desirable.Leadership abilities with experience in leading programs.Significant experience in the development and delivery of professional learning both face-to-face and online.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with teaching professionals and other program partners in school/education sector contexts.Project management skills with the ability to manage competing demands within tight timelines.Ability to source current research and evidence-based frameworks to inform the development and delivery of professional learning for teachers.Highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.Understanding of issues facing children and young people from refugee backgrounds and their families, as well as the Victorian education sector (including education pathways to employment).A current, valid Victoria drivers licence.
