Victoria’s industrial sector is under pressure. Margins are tighter, competition is aggressive, and customers expect more value, faster response times, and stronger technical support than ever before.

We are looking for a high-performing Technical Sales Representative who knows how to win business in challenging markets — someone commercially driven, technically credible, and capable of generating real revenue growth. For these critical skills you will be rewarded with a strong Base Salary + OTE + Super + Car + Phone.

This is not a passive account management role.
We want a results-focused operator who can identify opportunities, secure new business, strengthen existing relationships, and consistently convert pipeline into sales.

About the Role

You will take ownership of a designated territory and customer base across welding, fabrication, engineering, manufacturing, and industrial sectors throughout Melbourne.

Your focus will be:

  • Driving profitable sales growth

  • Securing new customers and expanding market share

  • Building strong commercial relationships

  • Identifying customer pain points and delivering solutions

  • Managing your territory autonomously with accountability for results

You will work directly with business owners, workshop managers, procurement teams, boilermakers, fabricators, and production leaders who expect fast thinking, technical confidence, and reliable follow-through.

What We’re Looking For

We are specifically seeking someone with:

  • Proven technical sales success within welding, industrial, engineering, gas, fabrication, or related sectors

  • Strong commercial instincts and negotiation capability

  • The ability to generate and close opportunities independently

  • Confidence engaging decision-makers at all levels

  • High personal accountability and self-management

  • A proactive, hunter-style sales approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • The ability to perform under pressure and adapt in a difficult economic environment

You must be capable of operating autonomously, prioritising effectively, and maintaining momentum without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory growth plans

  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive sales activity

  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts

  • Conduct site visits and provide technical product support

  • Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial outcomes

  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities

  • Maintain strong pipeline activity and reporting discipline

  • Work closely with internal operations and procurement teams to deliver outcomes for customers
