Waverley Social Enterprises is looking for an energetic and driven Business Development Representative to grow our Grounds Maintenance division across Melbourne’s southeast suburbs.
This is not an account management role. We are looking for someone who loves the chase someone motivated by generating leads, securing meetings, winning contracts, and helping grow a commercial service with real social impact.
About the Role
This 9-month fixed term opportunity is perfect for a proactive salesperson who enjoys being out in the field, networking, and developing new business opportunities.
You will take ownership of growing our Grounds Maintenance services by identifying prospects, building relationships, and converting opportunities into ongoing partnerships across Melbourne’s southeast.
You’ll work closely with our operations team to ensure a smooth handover of new clients while continuing to strengthen Waverley’s reputation in the market.
You’ll identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities across Melbourne’s southeast suburbs, building strong relationships with clients and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships before handing over to operations.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys the chase, takes initiative, and is motivated by achieving results.
What You’ll Do
Identify, research, and actively pursue new business opportunities across the grounds maintenance sector
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline aligned to targets and budgets
Generate leads through networking, relationship building, cold outreach, and site visits
Convert leads into long-term business partnerships and deliver on growth KPIs
Promote Waverley’s services and social impact across Melbourne’s southeast suburbs
Establish strong relationships with new clients, ensuring a seamless handover to operations
About You
You’re a confident and proactive business developer who thrives on winning new work and building strong client relationships.
You bring:

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Energy, initiative, and a results-driven approach
The ability to work autonomously and stay motivated
Experience in sales, business development, or the grounds maintenance industry (highly regarded)
A genuine commitment to inclusion and community impact
Experience working with people with disabilities is highly preferred for this position.
