About the Opportunity

Wasteflex is seeking a driven and commercially focused National Business Development Manager to lead new customer acquisition and drive revenue growth across our Managed Services division.

Reporting directly to the General Manager – Business Development, this role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional with a strong hunter mentality and proven success in securing new business opportunities within the waste, recycling, or related industries.

You will play a key role in expanding our national footprint by identifying and converting strategic opportunities, building long‑term client relationships, and contributing to the overall profitability and growth of the business.

Offering a high level of autonomy alongside the support of an experienced leadership team, the role is well suited to a driven business development professional looking to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business growth through proactive prospecting and relationship development
  • Identify, engage, and secure major commercial waste and recycling opportunities
  • Develop and execute client acquisition strategies and sales activity plans
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and projects
  • Deliver tailored Wasteflex solutions to meet customer needs
  • Foster enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments
  • Manage contract development and negotiations to achieve successful outcomes
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets
About You

To succeed in this role, you will be an ambitious and resilient sales professional who thrives on winning new business and building lasting client partnerships.

You will also bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development or senior sales roles, ideally within the waste or recycling industry
  • Proven track record in generating new business and managing complex sales cycles
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised with strong time management and prioritisation abilities
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely
  • Proficiency across MS Office and CRM platforms
  • A proactive, target‑driven approach with a passion for exceeding expectations
  • This role is based in Melbourne
