About the role

ConX Hire is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - Major Projects to join our dynamic sales team in Melbourne. This is a full-time position based in Melbourne, where you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and building lasting relationships with our major project clients. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic accounts, and closing significant deals that directly contribute to ConX Hire's expansion and market presence. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value projects whilst developing your expertise in the major projects sector.

Key responsibilities

  1. Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities within the Civil, Infrastructure and Quarrying Industries

  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target accounts

  3. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs

  4. Conduct thorough needs analysis to understand client requirements and provide customized solutions

  5. Negotiate contract terms and close sales deals to meet or exceed revenue targets

  6. Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipeline management and client interactions using CRM systems

  7. Collaborate with internal teams including operations and project management to ensure successful project delivery

  8. Participate in industry events, conferences and networking activities to generate leads and enhance market visibility

  9. Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management on pipeline activity and performance metrics

  10. Continuously develop product knowledge and stay informed of market trends and competitive landscape

What we're looking for

  1. Proven track record of success in B2B sales, ideally with experience selling services or solutions to Major Projects clients

  2. Strong understanding of Major Projects across the Hire Industry including construction, infrastructure, energy or related sectors

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all organizational levels

  4. Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes and close high-value deals

  5. Proficiency with CRM systems and sales management tools

  6. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

  7. Entrepreneurial mindset with drive to achieve and exceed sales targets

  8. Ability to work independently whilst being a collaborative team player

  9. Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or a related field is desirable but not essential if you have substantial relevant experience

  10. Willingness to travel to client sites and attend industry events as required
