About the Position

Retail Safari is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support the delivery of technology solutions, system enhancements, and application development initiatives across our client portfolio.

Working closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors, you will play a key role in gathering requirements, documenting business processes, coordinating testing activities, and supporting the successful delivery and release of software solutions.

This position is ideal for a highly analytical professional with strong stakeholder management skills, a solid understanding of software development methodologies, and a passion for leveraging technology and emerging AI solutions to solve business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from internal and external stakeholders
  • Create detailed functional and technical specifications, workflows, and change requests
  • Collaborate with development teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Coordinate software development, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation, and release activities
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, design thinking sessions, and requirements gathering activities
  • Develop release notes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and end-user documentation
  • Manage stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and applications
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve business outcomes and operational efficiency

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within software development, technology, or digital environments
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, implementation, and change management
  • Experience working on application development projects
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience facilitating workshops, user research, and business process analysis activities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
  • Experience working with APIs and API testing tools
  • Knowledge of SQL and data validation processes
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related discipline
  • Business Analysis certification
  • Experience with AI technologies and automation tools
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • A genuine passion for technology and innovation
