At Acoem, we create environments of possibility. www.acoem.com We have an exciting opportunity for a Production & Final QA Team Lead to join our manufacturing team based in Ferntree Gully Victoria.
This is a pivotal role within Acoem, as it is responsible for leading, coordinating and executing activities within the Production and Final QA departments to consistently deliver on set targets. The role will also provide direct leadership and training to a team of production technicians.
What You’ll Do
Workload Planning & Task Assignment: Plan and prioritise daily workloads in alignment with Sales & Operations planning and Manufacturing management. Assign specific jobs and tasks to Production and FQA staff members.
Pronto ERP System Management: Competently and efficiently carry out transactions within the Pronto system, including Work Order (W/O) creation, maintenance, completion, and line-side product inventory control.
Quality Assurance & Inspection: Ensure all required tests and quality inspections are rigorously performed. Verify that components, assemblies, and instruments meet established production standards before leaving the department.
Assembly & FQA: Oversee the assembly and FQA of a diverse range of products and sub-assemblies, maintaining a high personal standard of workmanship.
Team Development & Support: Provide technical support from a production and QA perspective. Deliver training to up-skill personnel, update the department skills matrix, and assist the team to resolve performance or planning bottlenecks.
Equipment & 5S Maintenance: Maintain production and FQA equipment. Continuously improve and enforce workplace cleanliness levels according to 5S methodologies.
Performance Management: Assist senior management in preparing formal Performance Reviews for Production and FQA staff.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify, report, and resolve ongoing product performance, production-related, or FQA issues.
What We’re Looking For
TAFE qualification in relevant field is strongly desired, equivalent to:
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrotechnology
- Diploma or Certificate in Manufacturing Technology
- Diploma or Certificate in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- Certificate IV in Competitive Systems & Practices
Minimum: VCE or equivalent
Additional qualifications in: Lean 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement would be looked upon favourably
3-5 years in a similar industry role, preferably in manufacturing or assembly
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly valued
2 years in a leadership or senior technician role is highly valued
