About Us:

Enzide Technologies is an Australian public company at the forefront of developing sustainable solutions to meet the global challenge of plastic pollution. Our mission is to innovate in the field of biodegradable plastics by creating advanced materials that do not compromise the environment for functionality.

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated scientist or engineer (entry-level / junior) to join our dynamic R&D team. This role sits at the interface of chemistry and materials/chemical engineering: the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in formulating additives, preparing and evaluating biodegradable plastic composites, measuring biodegradation, and contributing to our commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate materials using chemical and thermo-mechanical procedures.

  • Operate and maintain thermoplastic processing and thermomechanical testing equipment.

  • Prepare reagents, media and materials. Design and conduct experiments to evaluate material performance.

  • Test biodegradation performance in a range of environments.

  • Document all scientific results and prepare reports. Communicate research findings to Enzide research staff and management.

Essential Qualifications:

Recent graduates with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials / chemical engineering, polymer science/engineering or a closely related field. A master's degree (research-based) will also be considered.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a genuine interest in research.

Candidates must demonstrate an exceptional academic record with a distinction average (75%+) or equivalent.

R&D experience in formulation, polymer processing and materials characterization is preferred. This may include academic research projects.

What We Offer:

At Enzide Technologies our employees benefit from a competitive salary and benefits package, compensative to experience and skills. We are committed to the continuous development of our team, providing access to skill development training opportunities. Furthermore, our strategic location in Monash University's Innovation Labs opens the doors to unparalleled collaborative opportunities with academic experts, enriching our research capabilities and offering our team members a chance to engage in groundbreaking projects that bridge the gap between industry and academia.
