With the global transition toward net zero accelerating, smart energy storage is becoming critical. At Soltaro, we are at the forefront of this shift, developing innovative products for international markets.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Product Hardware Engineer / Technician to join our Melbourne-based team, working closely with our international manufacturing partners and internal teams to develop, improve, and support our energy storage products.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys bridging product development, engineering validation, and real-world application.

Australian work rights are required at the time of application for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to develop and refine battery and inverter hardware

  • Support end users with technical enquiries

  • Support new product development from concept through to production

  • Review and validate hardware designs, specifications, and performance

  • Assist with product testing, certification, and compliance (IEC, CE, etc.)

  • Investigate and resolve product issues from field and customer feedback

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation (specifications, manuals, test reports)

  • Support cross-functional teams including technical support, operations, and sales

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of existing product lines

Experience & Skills:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field

  • Experience in product development or hardware engineering (energy, electronics, or similar) is desirable but not essential

  • Experience with battery systems, inverters, or power electronics is desirable but not essential

  • Good understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and component selection

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Candidates must hold permanent resident status to be eligible for this position
