Proweld is seeking an ambitious and motivated individual to help grow our national welding products business.

This is more than a sales role. You'll work directly with senior management, gain exposure to purchasing, inventory management, supplier negotiations and business operations, and play a key role in growing a respected Australian industrial business.

About Proweld

Proweld is a leading supplier of welding consumables throughout Australia. We import and distribute products from some of the world's most respected welding brands, including Elga (Sweden), Lincoln Electric (USA) and Blue Demon (USA).

As part of Pinches Industries, a privately owned Australian engineering group with more than 75 years of history, we combine the flexibility of a small business with the support and resources of a larger organisation.

Unlike many large corporations, you'll work directly with decision-makers and have the opportunity to influence the direction and growth of the business.

Why This Role Is Different

This isn't a role where you'll be managing a small territory and following a script.

Over time you'll gain experience in:

  • Technical sales and business development

  • Product management

  • International purchasing and supplier relationships

  • Inventory planning and forecasting

  • Customer relationship management

  • Business operations and strategy

You'll work closely with the Managing Director, Operations Manager, Financial Controller and support team, giving you exposure to all aspects of running and growing a successful business.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Building strong relationships with customers throughout Australia

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities

  • Assisting customers with product selection and technical enquiries

  • Managing customer orders and quotations

  • Working with international suppliers and freight partners

  • Forecasting stock requirements and assisting with purchasing decisions

  • Travelling to visit customers and develop business opportunities

  • Supporting the continued growth of the Proweld brand

Who We're Looking For

We're more interested in attitude, communication skills and a willingness to learn than specific industry experience.

You may be:

  • An experienced sales professional

  • A boilermaker, fabricator or welder looking to move into a commercial role

  • An engineering graduate seeking a business-focused career

  • Someone with technical aptitude and a passion for building relationships

To succeed in this role you'll have:

  • A willingness to learn technical products and specifications

Training & Development

Industry and product training will be provided.

You don't need previous experience selling welding consumables to succeed in this role. We are looking for someone who is curious, motivated and eager to build a long-term career.

The Opportunity

Within your first 12 months you'll develop relationships with key customers, gain a detailed understanding of our product range and play a significant role in growing the Proweld business.
