About the role

Computervision is seeking a POS Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team in Elsternwick, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Point of Sale software solutions. As a POS Software Tester, you will be responsible for identifying defects, validating functionality, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards before they reach our customers. This role is essential to maintaining Computervision's reputation for delivering robust and user-friendly POS systems.

Candidates must hold Australian permanent residency to be eligible for this position.

What you'll be doing

1. Execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for POS software applications across multiple platforms and configurations

2. Perform functional, regression, integration and user acceptance testing to identify bugs, inconsistencies and performance issues

3. Document and report defects using defect tracking systems, providing clear descriptions, steps to reproduce and severity assessments

4. Collaborate with developers and product teams to verify bug fixes and validate resolutions

5. Test POS hardware integrations including payment terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners and other peripherals

6. Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and potential vulnerabilities in the software

7. Participate in test automation activities and assist in developing automated test scripts where applicable

8. Maintain detailed test documentation and provide comprehensive reports on test coverage and results

9. Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and quality assurance methodologies

What we're looking for

1. Essential experience in POS systems or retail software testing is required for this role

2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance

3. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing

4. Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test management software

5. Experience testing software integrations with hardware devices and peripherals

6. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and document issues clearly and systematically

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about software behaviour

8. Knowledge of automated testing tools and scripting languages is preferred but not essential

9. Database administration skills and SQL capabilities are required

10. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

11. A qualification in software testing, computer science or a related field is advantageous
