Supporting major civil construction, infrastructure and earthworks projects, we coordinate in excess of 100 truck movements daily and have built a reputation for reliability, responsiveness and exceptional customer service.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our team based in Somerton.

This role offers the opportunity to manage an established portfolio of clients while driving new business growth across our transport and logistics operations.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities across truck hire, bulk haulage and material cartage services.

Working closely with our operations and allocations teams, you will ensure customers receive exceptional service while helping to grow our presence throughout Victoria.

This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in transport, logistics, civil construction, earthworks or a related industry who enjoys building long-term client relationships and delivering practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across truck hire, bulk haulage and material cartage services

  • Prepare and submit quotations for transport and logistics services

  • Conduct regular client meetings and site visits

  • Negotiate service agreements and supply arrangements

  • Work closely with operations and allocations teams to ensure successful service delivery

  • Respond to customer enquiries and operational requirements in a timely manner

  • Identify opportunities to increase utilisation across company-owned and subcontractor assets

  • Monitor market activity and industry trends

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations and opportunities

About You

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills and a practical understanding of transport and logistics operations.

You will be proactive, commercially minded and capable of balancing customer expectations with operational requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Experience in business development, account management, transport operations or logistics

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships

  • Sound commercial and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
