YOUR ROLE

The Security Controls and Assurance Analyst works with the Security team to support the timely and effective delivery of security services to MACS offices and schools. The role supports the analysis and communication of security information, contributes to compliance and assurance activities, and assists in the identification and management of security risks.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support risk assessments and ongoing assurance of security controls and assist in identifying potential compliance gaps.
  • Conduct vendor and third-party security assessments, including questionnaires, evidence reviews and risk follow-ups.
  • Identify gaps and document security risks in a clear, practical and business-friendly manner.
  • Assist with technology and security risk assessments for new and existing systems.
  • Participate in assurance activities to assess compliance with relevant regulations, policies and standards.
  • Assist with the development, tracking and monitoring of risk mitigation and remediation activities.
  • Assist in incident response activities and investigations related to security incidents or policy breaches.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience or strong exposure to information security, IT risk, assurance or governance activities with a focus on problem resolution.
  • Experience assisting with or conducting vendor/third-party security assessments (TPRM).
  • Understanding of security risk assessment concepts and ability to document risks clearly.
  • Understanding of concepts and security controls related to data protection, data leakage, identity and access control, and privacy risks.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and translate into clear, well-structured reports.
  • Experience collecting, maintaining or reporting on security metrics or assurance data.
