About The Role:
We are looking to hire a strong Business Development Executive or an Account Manager with extensive experience in the freight forwarding industry, to play a key part in the continued growth of the business.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and an unparalleled commission / incentive structure.


Primary Purpose of the Position:
 
To leverage new and existing relationships to generate increased revenue through the procurement of retail level customers and to value add on the services offered to existing clients.
To reduce costs, minimise costs, maximise profit and provide on time results as required, reporting outcomes to the Director. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant authorities. 
  • Develop and maintain software and physical databases for importers, suppliers and their products. 
  • Provide customer service and consultation to clients. 
  • Actively educate junior staff and support their development. 
  • Build relationships with new and existing clients. 
  • Support policies, processes, systems and procedures of the business. 
  • Seek out new customers and opportunities. 
  • Assist other team members to achieve objectives. 
  • Prepare submissions as appropriate. 
  • Weekly and monthly reporting to the Director as required. 
  • Stakeholder Management - Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the business, client, subcontractors, agents and other external parties are developed and maintained. 
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Experience and a proven track record within the Freight forwarding industry is essential.
  • Governance: Complies with governance standards and expectations. 
  • Profitability: Identifies ways to minimise cost and maximise profit. 
  • Risk management: Implements risk management practices. 
  • Performance - Delivers results: 
  • Accountability: Takes accountability for own performance and communicates expectations of others.

  • System: Uses systems consistently according to role requirements.
