Are you someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and being out on the road?

Maybe you're a plumber looking for a career beyond the tools. Maybe you're working in trade sales, construction or building supplies and want to take the next step into a customer-facing role with more autonomy and opportunity.

If you're commercially minded, practical, and enjoy building relationships, we'd love to hear from you.

About us

Septic Systems Australia is a leading provider of residential wastewater treatment systems.

For more than 20 years, we've helped homeowners, builders, plumbers and developers deliver compliant, reliable and environmentally responsible wastewater solutions.

As part of a broader group that includes Harmor Liquid Waste Solutions and Yarra Valley Septics, we're proud to play an important role in protecting communities and waterways across Australia.

The opportunity

This is a unique role that combines sales, customer consultation, site assessments and project coordination.

You'll manage residential installation opportunities from initial enquiry through to project approval, helping customers navigate what can often be a complex process while ensuring they receive the right solution for their property.

Success in this role comes from building trust, creating opportunities and delivering a great customer experience.

One day you might be helping a family build their dream home. The next, you could be working with a plumber, volume or independent builder, architect or developer to deliver a practical wastewater solution.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Meeting customers and conducting site inspections
  • Understanding customer needs and project requirements
  • Assessing site suitability and installation feasibility
  • Preparing quotations and recommendations
  • Following up opportunities and converting sales
  • Building relationships with plumbers, builders and referral partners
  • Generating new business opportunities
  • Managing your sales pipeline and customer relationships
  • Coordinating accurate project handovers to our installation team

Where you'll be based

When you're not visiting customers or conducting site inspections, you'll be based from our Kilsyth office and yard, working alongside our experienced service, operations and installation teams.

You'll have the opportunity to learn from industry experts while remaining closely connected to project delivery and customer outcomes.

Who we're looking for

We're not necessarily looking for wastewater experience. We're looking for the right person.

You may come from a plumbing, trade sales, building supplies, construction, civil, environmental services, technical sales, account management or business development background and be looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Most importantly, you're someone who:

  • Builds relationships naturally
  • Communicates confidently with a wide range of people
  • Is equally comfortable talking to homeowners, plumbers and builders
  • Enjoys being out in the field rather than behind a desk
  • Has strong commercial awareness
  • Takes ownership of outcomes
  • Is organised and follows through on commitments
  • Wants to develop a long-term career in sales and project consulting

What's on offer

  • Established and respected Victorian business
  • Strong pipeline of incoming enquiries
  • Company vehicle, phone and laptop provided
  • Competitive salary plus performance incentives
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Supportive and experienced team environment
  • A balance of field-based work and office collaboration
  • Genuine career growth opportunities
  • And some cool perks like an extra day off on your birthday

Why this role is different

This isn't a high-pressure sales role. It's about understanding customer needs, building trusted relationships and helping people find the right solution. We're looking for a trade-smart relationship builder who enjoys meeting people, solving problems and seeing projects through from first conversation to successful delivery.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
