As Legal Counsel, you will support the Bank with practical, commercially focused legal advice. You will be a trusted first point of contact for legal guidance across the organisation, helping teams navigate contracts, regulatory obligations and legal risk. You will support the delivery of the Bank’s corporate legal program and help ensure our products, communications and operations meet legal and regulatory requirements. This role offers great exposure across the business, partnering with teams including procurement, marketing, risk and operations. It suits a lawyer who enjoys a highly collaborative environment and wants to grow their in-house career while making a genuine impact. In a Typical Day You Will Get Involved In Reviewing and drafting contracts, commercial agreements and member terms and conditions. Supporting procurement and vendor management, including supplier contracts and service agreements. Providing legal advice on projects, products and business initiatives. Reviewing marketing and promotional materials to ensure legal and regulatory compliance Advising on regulatory obligations, legal risk and governance considerations. Supporting responses to regulators, complaints or dispute matters where required. About You You enjoy bringing people together to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders and guiding teams through ambiguity, helping create the clarity that keeps things moving forward. Ideally You’ll Have A tertiary law qualification and be an Australian qualified lawyer with a current unrestricted practising certificate Some relevant legal experience, either in a law firm or in-house Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and legal documentation. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and practically A collaborative and approachable style with the ability to build trusted relationships Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on practical outcomes Exposure or interest in financial services regulation, privacy or regulatory compliance is desirable.
