Location: South-East Melbourne Salary Package: $130k - $140k + Super Role Highlights: Join a leading market-leading business in a high-impact commercial finance role supporting a large national retail network. This position offers strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence key business decisions through financial insights and analysis. Role overview: This Commercial Finance Analyst role supports a large multi-site retail business operating nationally. This role is responsible for delivering financial insights, analysis and commercial business partnering support to the operational leadership team. On a monthly basis you will support financial reporting, variance analysis and budgeting processes. On a weekly basis you will work closely with operational leaders to review business performance and identify opportunities for improvement. On a day-to-day basis, you will analyse financial data across multiple systems to deliver insights and support decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to partner with stakeholders across operations, merchandising, supply chain and finance teams while helping the organisation enhance reporting capability and financial visibility across the retail network. Responsibilities:Provide financial analysis and reporting across a large retail business unitSupport budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processesDeliver variance analysis and commentary on financial performancePartner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and recommendationsAnalyse store performance and support the development of store profitability benchmarkingConsolidate financial data across multiple systems to support reporting and analysisSupport month-end processes, including reconciliations and financial analysisIdentify opportunities for improvement in financial reporting and processesInvestigate financial performance issues and provide recommendationsPartner with stakeholders across operations, supply chain and finance teams Candidate Profile You are an analytical finance professional with proven experience in a Commercial Analyst, FP&A or Management Accounting role. You are comfortable working with large datasets and complex systems and enjoy analysing financial data to generate insights that support business performance.You have Advanced Excel skills and are confident working with budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. Ideally, you have experience working within a retail, FMCG or similarly complex organisation, where you have supported operational stakeholders and contributed to commercial decision-making.You are CA or CPA qualified or currently working towards completion, and possess strong communication skills that allow you to engage effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders.This large and well-established retail organisation provides an environment where finance professionals can partner closely with the business and develop their commercial capability.
