The Tesla Energy Network Engineering team is key to ensuring these critical assets are online and operating day and night without fail.
This team is seeking a motivated industrial server engineer to be part of the multi-functional OT team in APAC. The ideal candidate will specialise in server engineering, and support network engineering for industrial environments.
This role will provide server and networking implementation, management, automation, and will contribute to a global server architecture, ensuring we meet internal and external customer requirements and industry regulations.

What You'll Do
Deploy and manage server infrastructure at APAC energy sitesAssist with supporting networks at APAC energy sitesWork closely with other APAC OT team members, and a worldwide OT team, on designs and initiatives with a global impactFunction as a Tier 2-3 escalation point for internal teams and external clientsGather requirements, analyse, and propose solutions to server needsProvision, implement, test/validate, and maintain services per solution designConduct product POC evaluations, engage vendors and contribute to designsMonitor, analyse, and report metrics of servicesCreate documentation and implement automation to speed up processesMeet Australian critical infrastructure security requirementsMust be able to work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidaysMust be able to lift 50lbs/25KgParticipate in on call rotation15% travel required as necessary
What You'll Bring
We’re not expecting you to have all of these, but the more the better, especially in the core areas mentioned:
5+ years managing virtual and physical servers in production industrial/manufacturing environments (energy sector preferred)2+ years managing industrial networking infrastructure (energy sector preferred)Strong operational experience with VMware (or equivalent) virtualization, including ESXi, vCenter, HA, and shared storageHands-on experience with Windows Server ecosystems (including Active Directory, SQL Server, Veeam) and Linux server administrationExperience automating server and infrastructure management using tools such as PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, or shell scriptingSolid understanding of IP networking (L2/L3 protocols, VLANs, IPSEC, BGP, DHCP/DNS) and industrial switching technologies (e.g., Cisco IE, Hirschmann, Moxa, Siemens, or similar)Familiarity with next-generation firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA/Zone-Based, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper SRX) including VPN, application inspection, and IDS/IPSExposure to key industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) and high-uptime OT environmentsKnowledge of industrial security standards and frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, Purdue Model, Australian SOCI Act / critical infrastructure requirements)Experience with network analysis and security tools (e.g., Wireshark, SNMP, Splunk, ICS vulnerability scanners like Claroty/Tenable/CyberVision)Strong requirements gathering, solution design, documentation, and communication skillsRelevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP or industrial networking equivalents) preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)
