This is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially strong analyst who wants broader ownership, leadership exposure, and a clear path to more senior responsibility.
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Lead Commercial Analyst is the second-in-command within the commercial finance function, leading two analysts and driving outcomes across pricing, margin, forecasting, and supplier performance.
This is a hands-on commercial role focused on analysis, decision support, stakeholder management, and profitability improvement across a fast-paced business.
You will work across commercial analysis, pricing strategy, cost management, business partnering, financial modelling, and margin improvement initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to influence decisions and improve commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial analysis, margin reporting, budgeting and forecasting
Own weekly gross profit reporting and challenge key margin drivers
Identify and deliver margin improvement opportunities
Support budgeting and forecasting with stronger insight and accuracy
Lead supplier cost validation and dispute management
Pricing, modelling, decision support and stakeholder partnering
Lead pricing analysis across products and customer segments
Build and maintain financial models to support business decisions
Partner with stakeholders to provide clear commercial recommendations
Drive process improvements across pricing, reporting, and decision support
Team leadership, coaching and quality oversight
What You Will Bring
Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving capability
High intellectual curiosity and comfort operating in ambiguity
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, large datasets, and Power Query
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver in a fast-paced environment
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Analyst or similar role
