Practice Manager – The Blood Unit, Haematology & Oncology Group (Malvern)
We are a team of dedicated Haematologists and Oncologists working within a large, reputable private hospital in Malvern. Our practice is well-established, cohesive, and highly respected for providing exceptional care to our patients.
We are now seeking our next Practice Manager – a motivated and experienced leader to guide our exceptional administrative and clinical support team into the next chapter.
About the Role:
As Practice Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy, complex and dynamic specialist practice. You will work closely with a team of 7 administrative assistants, 9 haematologists, a nurse, and an oncologist to ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-focused service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee practice operations, including workflow, staff management, systems optimisation and resource allocation
· Manage HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
· Handle payroll, basic bookkeeping, and financial reporting
· Maintain and troubleshoot Practice Management Software (PMS) and IT systems
· Coordinate Medicare and private billing processes
· Oversee room utilisation, scheduling, and documentation
· Ensure compliance with privacy and healthcare standards
· Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture
About You:
You are an experienced and organised Practice Manager who thrives in a busy, professional environment. You are confident in leading a team, proactive in problem-solving, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and high-level proficiency in IT.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Proven experience in medical practice management (preferably in a specialist or hospital setting)
· Proficiency in PMS (Zedmed), HR, payroll (Xero) Medicare billing, and general administration
· Strong financial acumen and attention to detail
· Strong IT background to support and implement future projects
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· A hands-on approach with the ability to support and motivate others
· Process driven approach to improve systems
