Full time

Not specified

We are a busy, well-loved GP clinic in the heart of Altona North and we need a great Practice Manager to help us keep it that way. This is a hands-on leadership role in a clinic where the team genuinely cares and the work you do each day actually means something.

Who We Are

Altona North Medical Hub is a family-owned general practice that has been part of this community for years. We are not a corporate. Decisions are made by people, not committees, and our patients and staff always come first. We are proudly part of the Medical Hub Group, which means our team has access to shared resources and support but the heart of this clinic is purely local.

Our GPs are experienced, our admin team is dedicated, and the culture we are building here is something we protect. We want a Practice Manager who will protect it too.

The Role

You will be the driving force behind everything that makes Altona North Medical Hub work. From business planning and team leadership to financial sustainability and compliance. This role touches every part of the clinic. You will work directly with our GPs, with the autonomy to make real decisions and the support to back them up.

What You'll Do
  • Lead business planning and practice strategy - keeping the clinic focused, healthy, and growing

  • Inspire and develop the team, creating an environment where people are supported and performing at their best

  • Manage the full P&L including billing, budgets, and financial reporting with confidence, ensuring resources are well allocated and the practice is financially sustainable

  • Drive operational efficiency through strong systems and processes that make the day-to-day run smoothly

  • Own compliance and risk management, keeping the clinic safe, accredited, and meeting all regulatory requirements

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with GPs, staff and patients to keep the practice connected and collaborative

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who fits the way we work. You will need:

  • Proven experience managing a GP or primary healthcare practice (this is essential)

  • A genuine ability to lead people, not just manage them

  • Solid knowledge of medical billing

  • Confidence handling budgets and P&L responsibility

  • The kind of communication skills that work just as well with a GP as with a nervous new receptionist

  • A solutions mindset, someone who sees a problem and fixes it, rather than escalates it

  • A real appreciation for what it means to work in a community-based, people-first environment

What We Offer

We don't compete with the big corporates and we would not want to. What we offer instead is something that is harder to find:

  • A friendly, people-first workplace where culture matters

  • Direct access to the owners, no politics, no bureaucracy

  • A team and a network that shows up for each other every single day

  • A competitive salary that reflects your experience, discussed openly and honestly

  • Real autonomy to run the clinic your way, with our full support

  • Active investment in your growth - we support attendance at conferences and industry events. We also run our own internal planning days away from the clinic where the whole team learns together, shares experiences, and connects beyond the day-to-day

How to Apply

If this sounds like the kind of place you want to spend your working week, we would love to hear from you. Send us your resume and a short cover letter which tells us about your experience and, just as importantly, what kind of workplace brings out your best.

Please note only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
