As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced clinician to join our team in a part-time leadership role focused on participant wellbeing, clinical oversight, and supporting best-practice responses to incidents and complex care needs.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Phycologist to provide clinical leadership and oversight across our incident review processes and participant support services.
This role will focus on reviewing incidents through a clinical lens, identifying contributing factors, supporting staff with complex participant presentations, and developing strategies that enhance participant wellbeing, safety, and quality of life.
Working closely with operational leaders, support teams, participants, and families, you will help ensure incidents are used as opportunities for learning, service improvement, and positive participant outcomes.
This flexible part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working 2–3 days per week.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview incidents involving participants and provide clinical recommendations to support positive outcomes.
Identify underlying factors contributing to behavioural, psychosocial, mental health, or support-related incidents.
Support staff in responding effectively to participants experiencing complex mental health, behavioural, or psychosocial challenges.
Provide clinical guidance and advice regarding participant wellbeing, risk factors, and support planning.
Assist in developing proactive strategies aimed at reducing incidents and improving participant outcomes.
Participate in case reviews and multidisciplinary discussions for participants with complex support needs.
Support the development of individualised approaches that promote safety, independence, and quality of life.
Contribute to staff education, reflective practice, and ongoing capability development.
Work collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, and operational teams.
Provide input into clinical governance and service improvement initiatives where appropriate.
Qualification as one of the following:
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration (Mental Health experience highly regarded); or
Qualified Social Worker eligible for AASW membership; or
Registered Psychologist with current AHPRA registration.
Minimum 3 years' experience working within community mental health, psychosocial disability, NDIS services, or related healthcare settings.
Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex mental health, behavioural, trauma-related, or psychosocial needs.
Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and case review skills.
Experience providing guidance, mentoring, or clinical support to frontline teams.
Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Current National Police Clearance.
Current Working with Children Check.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Experience working within the NDIS sector.
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, and psychosocial disability supports.
Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
Previous leadership, clinical advisory, or senior practitioner experience.
Remuneration of $40–$50 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
Flexible part-time arrangement (2–3 days per week).
