We are seeking a Project Commercial Manager to provide high‑quality commercial advice and risk management support across EPSA’s project, bid and operational activities. This role plays a critical part in managing upstream and downstream commercial risk, supporting strong decision‑making, and enabling successful project and commercial outcomes. This role is based in Mulgrave, with a hybrid environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Corporate Finance & Commercial, this role partners closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Engineering and broader business stakeholders to support tenders, contracts, negotiations and continuous improvement across commercial activities.
A Day in the Life of EPSA’s Project Commercial Manager (but not limited to!)Providing commercial advice and support for business initiatives, including business case development, profitability, cost/benefit, cashflow and sensitivity analysisActing as the commercial lead for project tenders, reviewing tender packages, identifying risks and issues, and supporting tender development and submissionReviewing and negotiating contracts, ensuring alignment of upstream and downstream commercial considerationsSupporting negotiation, approval and execution of upstream contracts, including drafting commercial management plans and maintaining contract documentationPartnering with the Projects Procurement Lead and Project Managers to ensure projects are managed in accordance with contractual obligationsSupporting Project Managers to ensure all contractual notices are submitted correctly and on timeManaging contract enquiries, variations, disputes and commercial risks, including negotiation with customers where requiredParticipating in project and contract reviews, analysing budgets, cost to complete, variations, claims and project performance indicatorsProviding general commercial and strategic advice, including preparing commercial documentation, maintaining commercial databases and supporting board papersMonitoring adherence to corporate governance requirements, policies and risk controlsDriving continuous improvement initiatives across commercial management activitiesTraining and coaching the business to uplift commercial acumen and support practical application of commercial principles
We’re Looking for Someone Who:Is degree‑qualified in Business or a related discipline, supported by relevant commercial experienceBrings strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated experience identifying, managing and mitigating commercial riskHas well‑developed negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and gain stakeholder commitmentIs highly analytical, with strong problem‑solving skills and experience delivering continuous improvement initiativesHas proven stakeholder management capability, partnering effectively across diverse internal and external groupsCan communicate complex commercial concepts clearly at all levels, both written and verballyHas delivered commercial outcomes across multiple concurrent projects, ideally within infrastructure, engineering or construction environmentsDemonstrates behaviours aligned to EPSA’s values of Safety & Wellbeing, Honesty, Accountability, Performance, and Engagement
