NGK Stanger a Manufacturer and Supplier of the highest quality Transmission and Distribution Outdoor Switchgear equipment is seeking an organised, proactive and detail‑focused Purchasing Officer to join our team. If you enjoy coordinating suppliers, solving problems, and making sure operations run smoothly, this role is for you.

About the Role

Reporting to the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, you’ll be responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, services and incidental items to support production. You’ll monitor supplier performance, expedite deliveries, and work closely with internal teams to maintain stock availability.

This role is ideal for someone with purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment who thrives in a busy, hands‑on setting.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Raising purchase orders using SAP and spreadsheets

  • Following up suppliers and expediting overdue or low‑stock items

  • Requesting quotes for stock and non‑stock items

  • Managing purchasing for external processes (galvanizing, plating, painting, etc.)

  • Coordinating deliveries, pickups and logistics with the warehouse

  • Investigating stock discrepancies and conducting physical checks

  • Receiving goods in SAP

  • Supporting weekly production planning

  • Liaising with contractors for onsite maintenance, repairs and projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a purchasing/procurement role (manufacturing ideal)

  • Strong computer skills, including SAP Business One and MS Excel

  • Knowledge of purchasing systems and stock control

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong time management and attention to detail

  • Customer‑focused, proactive and a team player
