ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking a Manufacturing & Engineering Manager to oversee daily operations in our North Altona factory. This leadership role requires expertise in team development, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
We are entering an exciting phase of growth and operational improvement and are seeking an experienced Manufacturing & Engineering Manager to lead our pipe manufacturing operations and engineering performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced manufacturing professional who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and enjoys solving complex operational challenges.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE standards, policies and legislative requirements.
Improve plant reliability, equipment performance and manufacturing uptime through effective maintenance and engineering practices.
Lead manufacturing recovery initiatives to improve throughput, schedule attainment and operational performance.
Optimise labour, materials, equipment and process capability to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, product specifications, certifications and manufacturing process controls.
Investigate and resolve operational, quality and reliability issues through structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction and process optimisation.
Develop, coach and lead manufacturing teams to build capability, accountability and high performance.
Manage manufacturing costs, identify improvement opportunities and support automation and operational excellence initiatives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing (desirable)
• Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing management
• Experience in plastic and industrial products (preferred)
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and operational metrics
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to motivate cross-functional teams
• Comfort working in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Right to work in Australia
